Why Germany and why Berlin?

In Berlin, various companies, research institutions, clinics, renowned life science universities and government agencies come together to invent, evaluate and market digital solutions in the health and care sector. An exceptional environment for innovation!

What is remarkable is that the city currently hosts more than 2,740 digital health companies, making it a prominent hub for healthcare innovation. Moreover, Berlin boasts a network of 10 accelerators and incubators with a focus on digital health. Organizations such as Digital Health Factory and Flying Health have become beacons of collaboration for global innovators and investors, collectively steering the course of healthcare technology toward a promising future.

With more than 600 pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and 130 hospitals, the German capital is also a major hub for the IT industry, with a growing number of such software or service companies shifting their focus to the healthcare market.

Time Frame: April 8-12, 2024

‍

What: The mission will be a nice mix of

‍

- Informative sessions (e.g. around reimbursement & financing of health applications, general health policy and structure in Germany, German business culture, Berlin softlanding organizations, etc.)

- Inspiring sessions (e.g. a conversation and question session with a local scaleup, meetings with investors, innovation trends in the Berlin ecosystem, ...)

- Networking within and outside our group (e.g. a pitch & networking event at the Belgian Embassy, lunches, drinks & at least 1 organized dinner)

- Participation in DMEA 2024 (2 days) - after discussions with investors, people from the ecosystem and industry, and other startups, it also quickly became clear that participation in Europe's leading event for digital health with more than 700 exhibitors and more than 16,000 attendees could not be missed

Cost: 1877 euros for all Flemish scaleups. Cost price 2500 euros for all other companies. These prices always include 1 person participation. For a 2nd person from the same company you pay 250 euros more. We are collaborating with the Belgian Embassy in Berlin, the Department of International Trade and regional health hubs (FIT, AWEX, Hub.Brussels) for this inspiring trip.
